Small book - handwritten collection of poems by Taras Shevchenko during the period 1846-1850. The collection does not have the author's title. Shevchenkoznavstvo received the conventional name "Small Book" (in contrast to the later Shevchenko album - "Big Book"). The collection consists of 27 disposable self-made stitches of a miniature format, made of rounded sheets of ordinary writing paper (A-4) of different quality. By the lines of Shevchenko at the end of 1849 - early 1850 he completely rewrote the texts from the previous rough autographs and "Squeaky booklets", which then, apparently, destroyed, or they were lost. Works are rewritten diligently, very fine and dense. On each page the text is framed. Shevchenko Numbered stitches and works written to them within the year: separately for 1847, 1848, 1849 and 1850.
