Zakhalyvna T. Shevchenko's Small Book of Manuscripts 1847-1849

Zakhalyvna T. Shevchenko's Small Book of Manuscripts 1847-1849
Small book - handwritten collection of poems by Taras Shevchenko during the period 1846-1850. The collection does not have the author's title. Shevchenkoznavstvo received the conventional name "Small Book" (in contrast to the later Shevchenko album - "Big Book"). The collection consists of 27 disposable self-made stitches of a miniature format, made of rounded sheets of ordinary writing paper (A-4) of different quality. By the lines of Shevchenko at the end of 1849 - early 1850 he completely rewrote the texts from the previous rough autographs and "Squeaky booklets", which then, apparently, destroyed, or they were lost. Works are rewritten diligently, very fine and dense. On each page the text is framed. Shevchenko Numbered stitches and works written to them within the year: separately for 1847, 1848, 1849 and 1850. The works of 1846 and the first half of 1847: "Lilia", "Mermaid", "Witch", "In the casemates", which Shevchenko sent to exile, he united with "slave" works [1] in 1847. In 1846 and 1847 there were 10 numbered stitches (22 works), in 1848 - ten (60 works), 1849 - four (19 works), three (thirteen works) during the first four months of 1850 (until the second arrest of the poet). At the beginning of the first stitching every year there are poems that have the character of the entry into the written year: 1847 - "My thoughts, my thoughts, you are my only", 1848 - "And now we say again", 1849 - "Like the steppe chumaky", 1850 - "I'll go to bed in captivity days and nights". During a search and arrest on April 23, 1850, in Orenburg, stitches were not found in Shevchenko. Warned about the search, the poet managed to pass them on to C. Guernsey. Later, K. Guren returned these stitches to Shevchenko to a new place of exile - to the Novopetrovsky fortification. Before that, K. Guerneau reduced them to a heap and set off for "a simple tarred goods" [2]. Due to an oversight in the booklet, the order of the books was broken: after the second stitching of 1848, the third stitching was made in 1850, followed by the fourth crosslink of 1849, and several cross-links of 1848 - among the works of 1849 and 1850. This error is fixed by a solid page author's pagination of the fixed manuscript (434 pages). Small book (1965 phototype edition): An example page of corrections. The texts of the Little Book initially represented a purely compilation of Shevchenko's "slave poetry" (with the inclusion of several works of 1846 - the first half of 1847), but later Shevchenko introduced a manuscript of corrections and changes that turned the word autographs on the draft. Shevchenko started the creative and editorial revision of the "Little Book" even in Novopetrovsky fortification. He wrote the words, first marked with shortened or dots; Several works were struck out [3], some put headings [4] and dedication [5]. Editorial work on the text of the "Little Book" Shevchenko then continued, returning from exile, in Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and St. Petersburg. The correction is made in many works. Most of the works in corrected editions of Shevchenko rewrote from "Little Book" to "Big Book." After the death of Shevchenko, "Little book" was preserved for a while at M. Lazarevsky, who gave it to be restored to a new shoal framework, to gild a trimming, on the root of the book knocked out its initials "M. L. ". This kind of" Small Book "has now. The texts of the collection were used in the publication of works by Shevchenko in the journal Osnova, the vast majority of them were first published in Kobzar published in 1867, and some in the Prague edition of Kobzar in 1876. "Small book" as a source of text - one of the most important manuscripts of Shevchenko, on which his works are printed, are not rewritten to the "Big Book."
