National Bank of Ukraine issued a new 20-hryvnia commemorative bill dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of the writer Ivan Franko. The banknote differs significantly from the current 20-hryvnia bill that is in circulation. The portrait of Ivan Franko is in the center of the banknote. It follows our new line of design of banknotes that was put into circulation - this is a 100-hryvnia banknote of the 2014 model and a 500-hryvnia banknote of the 2015 model. Used all modern protective elements that are used on banknotes of high denomination, - noted the deputy chairman of the NBU Yakov Smolij.

Series: Souvenir products To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the events of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921 and the first Ukrainian paper money, the National Bank of Ukraine issued a souvenir bill entitled `One Hundred Rubles', which reproduces the design of the first Ukrainian banknote - a national credit card with a face value of 100 rubles (author of a sketch of a banknote - Georgy Narbut) . The image on this banknote of the trident was one of the main factors in the establishment of the Grand Duke of Volodymyr the Great as the State Emblem of the UPR and almost two months ahead of the relevant law of the Central Council on the State Emblem. During the manufacture of a souvenir note, special security paper is used, which consists of flax fibers up to 85% and cotton cellulose. The paper banknote contains a local watermark in the form of a trident, the middle tooth crowned with a cross. The size of the note: - 80 x 170 mm.
