The silver coin is devoted to the 100th anniversary of the first performance of the work of Nikolai Dmitrievich Leontovich - `Shchedryk` by the choir of the Kiev University. Nikolay Leontovich is a Ukrainian composer-innovator, master of choral miniature, author of about two hundred folk songs, which in the ability to subtly feel folk intonation and musical instruments to portray a poetic image is unmatched. `Shchedryk` is one of the most popular treatments of Leontovich, over which the composer worked almost all his life, known not only in Ukraine but also throughout the world under the name 'carol of the bells' (Carol of the Bells, Ukrainian Bell Carol, Ukrainian Carol).
