The coin is dedicated to the memory of victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people. May 18, 1944 the Soviet regime began deportation of the Crimean Tatars of historical Motherland - Crimea. They forced eviction, restrictions livelihood led to the death of about half evacuated. National Bank of Ukraine introduces into circulation coin featuring the State Service of Ukraine on the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.

On the coin depicts a stylized composition, deported Crimean Tatar family behind barbed wire in the car and inscriptions: 18/05/1944 (vertical left) GENOCIDE / CRIMEAN TATAR / people (above) and QIRIMTATAR / HALQINIS / GENOTSIDI (below).
