Mgarsky Holy Transfiguration Monastery has always played an important role in the spiritual life of Ukraine. An Orthodox Church Brotherhood was founded here, and thanks to a firm position in the struggle against the expansion of the union on Ukrainian lands, the monastery quickly gained popularity and support among the Cossacks. The decoration of the monastic complex is the Savior Transfiguration Cathedral - one of the most prominent examples of the architecture of the era of the Ukrainian Baroque, built at the end of the seventeenth century.
