The coin is devoted to the autonomous administrative-territorial unit in the south of Ukraine, located on the Crimean peninsula, which is washed by the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. In 2014, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was insidiously occupied by the Russian Federation. Forcible annexation of the Crimea is not recognized by the Ukrainian state and the international community, who consider the peninsula to be temporarily occupied by the territory.
