The coin is dedicated to one of the oldest archives in the state - the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine, which was founded in 1852 on the initiative of the Interim Commission for the consideration of ancient acts in Kyiv, Podilsky and Volyn Governor-General, which began its activities in 1853. Today, the collection of the archive contains about 1.5 million units of unique documents on the history of Ukraine from the XIII-early XX centuries, among which there are parchment certificates of the XIII-XV centuries, universals of Ukrainian hetmans, the collection of incunabula and old-age books, the Arch of Kosh Nova Zaporozhye Sich, the General Description of the Left Bank of Ukraine, documents of the institutions of the Hetmanate, monastic and church funds, personal funds.
